Role Description
As a Data Engineer (Technical Intern) at Siemens, you will be responsible for designing, building, and supporting scalable data solutions that enable analytics, reporting, and AI-driven insights.
You will work with structured and unstructured data, modern cloud infrastructures, and big data architectures to support business intelligence and advanced analytics use cases. This role demands a strong technical foundation, curiosity to explore emerging technologies, and the ability to collaborate across global teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop prototypes and proof-of-concepts using multiple data sources
- Apply AI/ML techniques and big data technologies to solve business problems
- Design, implement, and deploy large-scale structured and unstructured databases
- Work with cloud-based data platforms to ensure scalability and performance
- Port and migrate data across databases and data sources to improve efficiency
- Support analytics use cases by combining disparate datasets into meaningful insights
- Collaborate with Data Architects in designing big data architectures
- Ensure data quality, performance optimization, and system reliability
- Have to Stay updated with trending technologies and industry best practices
- Communicate technical concepts effectively with global stakeholders
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering, Data Science, or equivalent field
- Professional certification or degree in Data Science / Data Engineering is an added advantage
- have 0–2 years of hands-on experience in Databases, Data Engineering, or Data Analytics.
- Experience working on at least two academic or professional data projects

- Strong knowledge of RDBMS and Object-Oriented databases
- Excellent command over SQL and query optimization

Data Warehousing
- Experience with data warehousing solutions such as Teradata, Snowflake

ETL & BI Tools
- Basic knowledge of ETL processes (Extract, Transform, Load)
